Still, it lacks the polish of Hearthstone in terms of graphical effects and such. The client is a bit buggy sometimes, but it is usually manageable. It's also a shame that it doesn't have a mode similar to Arena. Something I really dislike about Magic in general (not only on Duels) is the reliance on Lands (e.g., I get Land starved way too often to my taste). This also has an effect on making the game slower paced. The core game itself is way more complex than Hearthstone, which I like up to a point, but sometimes it's a bit too much for me. There are a lot of things to like, starting from fairer quests, packs that only contain cards new cards or cards for which you still haven't reached maximum limit, multiple FREE single player campaigns, an interesting 2v2 mode, Magic Duels is quite an interesting game, based on the classic physical TCG. Requiring you to win to have a chance and getting more cards and getting better will continually widen the gap between paying and non-paying (or low-paying) players, up to a point in which they either give up, or decide to throw money at the game (yeah, I now. On top of all that, the quests that award you some gold, are usually tied with playing a given class and WINNING.
Maybe I think this way because one of the things I like in CCGs is the availability of a nice Single Player campaign, which in the case of Hearthstone is behind a pay wall. However, I feel that adventures should have been way more accessible to get. I mean, I'm ok with the release of new sets. On top of that, the monetization model is way too hard on your wallet. The game also relies a bit too much on RNG.

If you face someone that has thrown a lot of money at the game and that has built a solid deck full of high quality cards, it is extremely hard to beat them, unless you get very lucky. I feel that the game is a bit unbalanced. However, there are a few things that I dislike about it.

It is also great that it is available on many platforms (Windows, OS X, Android and iOS), meaning that I can play it on my PC and on my Android devices (smartphone and tablet). This is the behemoth of CCGs with a huge playerbase, card pool and an extremely polished client and artwork.
